information in english
The November Festival is the yearly national film festival for young, Swedish filmmakers. The first time it was held was in November 1996. At the November Festival about 60-70 films are screened over two days. The festival is a unique venue for film makers and audience. There are seminars, face2face with the participating filmmakers, talk to the jury, artists and lots of opportunities to mingle and meet and make new contacts and new friends. The November festival is a forum for up and coming film makers. We do not accept professional, fully financed films.
THE RULES The participating films are selected at 19 regional film festivals, the best films being sent on for selection for the November Festival. A jury watches all these films and decides which films to be awarded prizes. The films can be maximum 15 minutes long. They compete in three different age groups; 0-16 year olds, 17-21 year olds and 22-26 year olds. The age of the director when the film was made determines the age group. Any music used in the films must be either the film makers own compositions and recordings, or the film makers must have cleared the music rights. The same applies for any archive pictures used – the rights must be either the film makers own or have been cleared. The films director must be a Swedish citizen or have been living in Sweden when the film was made.
